4 Great Outdoor Activities You Can Drive to Near Yuba City, CA

Scenic and friendly Yuba City, CA, is an excellent place to stretch your legs and explore the great outdoors. There are plenty of outdoor activities in and around Yuba City that will delight just about everyone. 1. Gauche Aquatic Park

Visit Gauche Aquatic Park at 421 C Street for exceptional family fun at the waterpark. There are slides and pools for kids of all ages, a rock climbing wall, plenty of places to picnic, and lots of games and activities that will keep the family busy all day. This park is one of the top places to enjoy the sunshine in Yuba City, and it’s convenient and centrally located.

2. Ellis Lake

Ellis Lake, at 939 D Street in nearby Marysville, is less than ten minutes away from Yuba City and an excellent spot to go to enjoy the fresh air and incredible landscape. The lake has plenty of walking trails, and you’ll find plenty of geese and ducks. It’s also a great place to go fishing. If you want to unplug without having to drive too far, Ellis Lake is a great option.

3. West Coast Falconry

Another Marysville gem, the West Coast Falconry at 10308 Spring Valley Road, is a wonderful place to learn about falcons and the history of falconry. You’ll get the opportunity to stroll through the grounds, meet falcons, owls, and hawks, and even interact with the birds. It’s an excellent and unique place to spend the day, and it’s just a few minutes away from Yuba City.  

4. Plumas Lake Golf and Country Club

You’ll find some of the best golfing in the region just over ten minutes away from Yuba City in Olivehurst. Plumas Lake Golf and Country Club, at 1551 Country Club Road, is a world-class club with an 18-hole golf course, a great restaurant, and a putting green. The greens are well-manicured and offer lovely views, and the staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. They also have instructors and pros on-site if you want a bit of help with your golf game.

Yuba City is an excellent place to stretch your legs and get outside. Whether you want to enjoy a fun waterpark with the family, learn about falcons and falconry, stroll around an idyllic lake, or practice your putt, this city truly does have it all.
