Trim Levels (Exterior)
The new Maverick comes in three trim levels, and they each have unique exterior features to keep in mind. At the base level you'll find the XL, which comes standard with LED auto on/off headlights and 17-inch silver alloy wheels, along with a mini spare tire, rear-bed cargo lights, and rear privacy glass.
If you're looking to upgrade, the XLT trim has a bit more to offer such as wiper-activated headlights and a power lock for the tailgate. A spotter mirror is also standard. The highest trim level is the Lariat, which comes with its own LED signature lighting. Body-colored door handles and 18-inch wheels are also standard here.
Engine (Power)
Two engines are available with the Maverick, and they both pack a punch. At the base level, the engine is a hybrid 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine combining its power with an electric motor producing 191 horsepower. The other engine is a standard gas option that's a 2-liter four-cylinder with turbocharged technology. It can offer 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Despite being a hybrid at the base level, the Maverick's performance and capability are still quite impressive. When properly equipped, the hybrid Maverick can tow up to 2,000 pounds and handle a payload of up to 1,500 pounds. If you're interested in maximizing capability, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine offers a towing capacity of up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Interior
The Maverick's interior is defined by a stylish design and generous space for both passengers and cargo. Rear legroom in this truck is 35.9 inches, which is fairly impressive for a compact pickup. You'll find extra storage cubbies under the seat cushions in the back, so it's easy to ensure that you always have the gear you need whether you're going to a work site or are interested in recreational fun. Just keep in mind that the hybrid model has one less rear seat cubby because that's where the electric battery sits. Upfront, you'll find an 8-inch touchscreen interface to access the infotainment system, which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard.
